Why does it re-encode?
Trimming re-encodes so the cut is frame-accurate and starts cleanly (rather than at the nearest keyframe). That makes it a touch slower, but the clip plays perfectly from the first frame.

No. DrawnColor processes your file entirely in your browser using ffmpeg compiled to WebAssembly, so your file never leaves your device. There are no upload limits from us and nothing is stored.
